Light Rail in Ridgecrest

Sound Transit recently expanded its Link Light Rail system into Lynnwood. This expansion is referred to as the Lynnwood Link, and it includes two stops in the City of Shoreline on the east side Interstate-5. The "Shoreline South" station, is now open at the southwest corner of our neighborhood and the "Shoreline North" station is about 1/2 mile north of our neighborhood. 

Sound Transit plans to open a connection between the 1 Line and 2 Line, as well as an extension to Federal Way, in 2026. These expansions are set to connect Ridgecrest Neighborhood even more with the rest of the Puget Sound region!

• Opened: August 2025

• Length: 8.5 miles, 4 stations

• Service: Every 4 - 6 minutes during peak hours.

• Estimated travel times:

  • Shoreline South/148th to Westlake: 20 minutes

  • Shoreline South/148th to University of Washington: 14 minutes

  • Shoreline South/148th to SeaTac Airport: 58 minutes
